Explaining, the Judicial Service said Chief Justice Georgina Wood was currently attending the Chief Justices and Presidents of Supreme Courts conference in Egypt.

According to the Judicial Service, she will be back in Ghana on Thursday 23rd February and will resume her duties as CJ until her retirement in June 2017.

Justice Atuguba was said to have only sat in for the CJ because he is the senior most judge on the Supreme Court bench.

Justice Atuguba once acted as Chief Justice from May 25, 2016 until June 3, 2016, while Justice Georgina Theodora Wood was outside the country on official assignment.

Mr. Atuguba also chaired the panel that sat on Ghana’s 2012 election petition.
