Japan Motors supports Zakat and Sadaqa fund

The management of Japan Motors, dealers in Nissan vehicles, has presented a Nissan Pick-up Hard Body worth GH¢94,000 to the management of the Zakat and Sadaqa fund.

The Managing Director (MD) of Japan Motors, Mr Salem Kalomoni, handed over the vehicle to the Zakat and Sadaqa fund at a ceremony in Accra last Tuesday.

The Zakat and Sadaqa fund is an initiative of the Muslim Caucus in Parliament and has the aim of supporting brilliant, needy Muslim students across the country.

Mr Kalomoni said the vehicle was donated to assist the fund carry out its acitivities smoothly.

According to him, the company was determined to contribute to the human resource development of the country, “hence our desire to present the vehicle to the Zakat  and Sadaqa fund.”

He said the vehicle was donated to the fund following an appeal made to the company by the fund’s managers for assistance to meet its transportation challenges.

A member of the executive team of the Zakat and Sadaqa fund, Sheik Armiyaw Shuaib, expressed his gratitude to the management of Japan Motors for the gesture.

He assured the company of the fund’s readiness to maintain the vehicle well.

Sheik Shuaib urged muslim students in distress, particularly brilliant needy students, to take advantage of the fund and upgrade themselves academically.

“We are grateful to Japan Motors for the vehicle and we intend to increase our membership of the fund to more than 1,000 next year,” he said.
