ICGC Shalom Temple installs street lights for Amasaman

The Head Pastor of the Shalom Temple Assembly of International Central Gospel Church (ICGC) at Amasaman in the Greater Accra Region, Rev William Tsinigo, has handed over 20 streetlights installed along one of the principal streets of Ga West to the municipal assembly.

The Municipal Chief Executive for Ga West, Mr Clement Nii Wilkinson Lamptey, received the donation on behalf of the assembly. The streetlights were donated to support improvements in security for residents. The lights have been installed along the Nii Amasa Oseku II street, the principal street at Amasaman.

The donation was part of the church’s 20th anniversary celebrations.

At the inaugural ceremony, Rev. Tsinigo said the donation was also a symbol of the church’s commitment towards the development of the town.

“The inauguration of the streetlights is to reiterate our commitment to partner interested groups towards the development of this town, as well as to promote the wellbeing of its people,” he said.

According to him, the church was received warmly by the chief of the town 20 years ago, when it came to establish a branch presence by giving out a portion of his premises to the church for use.

He prayed for the welfare and prosperity of the chief and the people of Amasaman, and promised that the church would continue to help in developing the town.

Appreciation

For his part, Mr Lamptey expressed appreciation to the leadership of ICGC and Shalom Temple Assembly for promoting the development of the town.

He urged the church to use its platform to educate the youth on unlawful acts.

“I wish to urge the church to use the pulpit to educate the youth against anti-Christian behaviours such as indiscipline, lawlessness, violence and drug abuse. These negative attitudes will not only destroy their lives but also make them a burden to their families and the nation,” he said in a speech read on his behalf by Ms Marian Ofosu Appiah.

The Chief Priest of Amasaman, Nuumo Nuushie Yao II, who represented the chief of Amasaman, expressed gratitude to the church for the lights.

“We thank you for installing streetlights in the town. We hope that this gesture will create a more cordial relationship between the church and the people,” he said.
