Samuel Nuamah's widow demands investigation into his death

Lilian Numah, the wife of Samuel Nuamah, the Ghanaian Times reporter who died in an accident involving the Presidential Press Corps, has questioned why the cause of the accident has still not been revealed to her two months after his death.

She has, therefore, reiterated her call for an investigation into the accident, so as to prevent it from recurring.

“I don’t want it happening again. This time it's my husband. We don’t know who will be next. Sammy will be very happy if he sees that through his death this is what has been achieved… my husband’s soul will be very, very happy, I think it will even help me to heal,” she said.

Mrs Nuamah explained that she needed an investigative report of the accident to make sure journalists do not suffer the same fate as her late husband.

She said weeks after she demanded the report from the government, the authorities had failed to respond.

Mrs Nuamah told Accra-based Joy FM on Tuesday that the Minister of Communication, Dr Edward Omane Boamah promised to meet her to discuss details of the investigative process, but was yet to do so.

She revealed that life had not been the same for her since her husband's death.

She added that she would return to her base in the United States to heal while she waits for the government to present her with the findings of the investigations.
