I'm not ashamed – Ben Ephson says as prediction goes wrong

Pollster and Managing Editor of the Dispatch newspaper, Ben Ephson has said he is unperturbed by attacks on him following his prediction that the National Democratic Congress (NDC) would win the 2016 elections.

Mr Ephson in November predicted a “one-touch victory” for President Mahama and that the party would garner 52.4 per cent of votes while the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo would get 45.9 per cent.

Results trickling in however show a lead for Nana Addo with about 54 per cent of the votes cast.

Speaking on Atinka FM Friday, Mr Ephson said despite his prediction going wrong he would not stop conducting polls in the country.

“I am not ashamed of my polls. This is not the first time I have conducted a poll in Ghana and I will continue to do more polls when the need arises,” he said.
