Help make Kwahu business centre — Obomenghene

The Chief of Kwahu Obomeng in the Eastern Region, Nana Effah Opinamang III, has called on the government, local and foreign investors to help make Kwahu a business hub in the country.

In his view, the Kwahu area is endowed with many natural resources which would attract investors to eventually boost the national economy if the place is opened up for the purpose.

Nana Opinamang made the call during an interaction with the Managing Director of the Graphic Communications Group Limited (GCGL), Mr Kenneth Ashigbey, at the company’s head office in Accra last Wednesday.

The visit was to invite the Graphic MD and management to the chief’s coronation scheduled for April 2017.

He was accompanied by some sub-chiefs, elders and opinion leaders of Obomeng.

Coronation

Nana Opinamang will be enstooled at the forecourt of the Obomeng Chief’s Palace and the Presbyterian School Park on April 13, 2017.

Among other things, the new chief plans to kickstart a new phase of development by strengthening unity among the people of Obomeng.

Neglect

Nana Opinamang complained that successive governments had failed to undertake major development projects in the area.

“The people of Obomeng feel neglected because they have been left to deal with their own challenges,” he said.

He said that notwithstanding, Kwahus in general had, over the years, worked hard to create some jobs in the area.

Coverage

Welcoming the chief and elders to his office, Mr Ashigbey said the GCGL would discharge its mandate of providing coverage during such events.

He said the company was passionate about development issues and it would, accordingly, use its newspapers to promote development.
