Consequently, the association has given a 48-hour ultimatum to government, to bring the activities of the black marketers to a halt.

At a press conference in Accra on Tuesday, the Industry coordinator of the association, Mr Kwaku Agyeman Duah said there would be a revenue loss of about Gh¢1billion this year if the activities of 'black marketers' were allowed to go on.

Graphic Online’s Mabel Aku Baneseh who covered the press conference said the association expressed concern about the negative impact on their business as a result of smuggling.

They said apart from the fact that the black marketers were not paying taxes, their businesses were suffering with some of them collapsing.

In the video below, Mr Kwaku Agyeman Duah talks about the activities of 'black marketers' and the threat to their business.
