‘Growth in Christianity not preventing corrupt acts’

The Founder and President of the Regent University College, Reverend Professor Kingsley E. Larbi, has expressed worry over the upsurge in corruption in Ghana, in spite of the growth in Christianity.

He said it was a disgrace that although churches were growing in number and in faith, corruption had become the norm in the Ghanaian society.

“Christianity means change, revolution and insisting that the will of God must rule. Therefore, it must be used as one of the major ways of curtailing corruption,” he said.

Rev. Prof. Larbi called on Christians to uphold the tenets of Christianity by being truthful and emulating Christ in all their dealings.

Fire Conference

He was speaking at a week-long Fire Conference organised by the Pentecost International Worship Centre (PIWC), Atomic, where he is an associate pastor, on the topic: “Baptism for exploits” (The Fire of Pentecost).

Dubbed: ‘the Fire Conference 2016’, it was aimed at reviving the spirituality of the congregation and admonishing them to lead exemplary lives in the national fight against corruption.

The conference was on the theme: “The Pentecost experience, power from above.”

In his address, Pastor Dan Nii Teiko Tackie, the Head Pastor of the church, admonished the congregation to desire the power of God to achieve their exploits.

He said with divine enablement, the life of a Christian became fruitful beyond the understanding of logic.

In his remarks, an international evangelist, Dr Lawrence Tetteh, stressed the importance of the power of anointing and oil in the life of a Christian.

He charged the congregation to obtain power that came from the Holy Spirit in the form of divine anointing to do the naturally impossible which the Holy Bible described as exploits.

Dr Tetteh admonished Christians to desire grace rather than greatness because grace could open the door of greatness desired without having to use dubious means.

The Area Head for Madina, Apostle A. K. Ahalivorcalled on Christians to pray earnestly for the manifestation of the fruit of the Holy Spirit.
