GPRTU sticks to old fares

The Ghana Private Road Transport Union (GPRTU), has directed its regional secretariats to ensure that they maintain the old fares.

Mr Stephen K. Okudzeto, General Secretary of the Union, gave the directive in a statement issued in Accra.

The statement said despite the Minister of Finance budgetary levy of three per cent increase on both diesel and petrol: “The Union has decided that all branches should maintain its old fares.”

It said the Union would take the increases of the fares into consideration in the event of any future adjustment of fuel prices.

“We entreat all Regional Secretariats to make this directive known to all locals and branches under their jurisdictions and ensure strict compliance.”
