Golden Tulip Accra ushers in Christmas with ‘cake-mixing’

Golden Tulip Accra (GTA) has organised a cake mixing ceremony and lighting of Christmas tree to usher its workers and customers into the Christmas season.

The event, held in Accra, brought together workers as well as some customers to celebrate the day.

The “Cake-mixing” ceremony

Speaking on behalf of the General Manager of the company, the Food & Beverage Manager, Mr  Marshall Otu, said it was symbolical to carry out the ceremony in the first week of December to usher Ghanaians into the festive season and that meant  “whoever is mixing the cake is part of the hands that will feed many mouths in the hotel during the Christmas period.”

Mr Otu explained that the event also signified unity as it marked the start of the festive season that call for individuals to come together, unite and enjoy the season

“This Xmas period is all about Golden Tulip Accra as part of our 25th Anniversary celebration. We are calling on guests and the general public to target the hotel this festive season for fune packed activities,” he said.

Activities lined up for the festive season include a party dubbed ‘Glow in the Dark’ and would feature Ackah Blay’s Abiza Band, and a performance by Nigerian sensation, Xali Hali, among other things.

Christmas Fever

The Executive Chef of GTA, Mr Leslie Quarmyne,  indicated that the joining of hands together to mix the cake meant “every cake that is baked throughout the season will be coming out from the fruits that will be mixed today and also signifies that Christmas is here and all are supposed to come together and unite with family and friends.”
