Dubbed “Katie Franklin Education Centre”, the facility was named after  Madam Katie Franklin, the mother of Jackson Franklin, a Pastor of the Free Chapel in Georgia, USA.

Pastor Franklin, as part of his ‘divine calling’, has partnered philanthropic organisations across the globe and continues to offer support to many deprived bodies, especially in Africa.

Architecture

The school block was built with burnt clay bricks, which has multiple advantages of regulating temperature.

The beautifully tiled classrooms have a modern library, science laboratory, as well as a unique playing ground for children’s relaxation.

It has a decent toilet facility and a water reservoir to ensure an all-year-round supply of potable water.

Speaking after a tour of the school block, the Africa Director for Global Servants, Mr Travis Rutland, expressed satisfaction with the quality of architectural work and commended the contractors for working within the speculated time frame.

He charged the school’s authority to put the facility to good use and also make sure that it was used for its intended purpose of serving children.

According to him, the affinity between the Global Servants and the Trinity Foundation was not new, adding that the future even looked brighter considering the social intervention programmes being executed.

“I love Ghana. This is my second home, and I will do everything possible to make my people succeed,” he cheerfully said.

Mr Rutland stated that as part of their commitment to helping the country, $25 million was budgeted yearly for Ghana.

It is used to improve education, provide boreholes and build clinics and toilets for deprived communities.

Appreciation

The Founder of the Trinity Foundation School, Rev. Samuel Odarno, commended Global Servants and its donors for their continuous support which, he said, had made the school a modern institution.

According to Rev.  Odarno, the school was very fortunate to get a modern block for free but charged parents to honour their part of the obligation by paying their children’s school fees to enable the authorities to maintain the tutors in the school.

PTA chairman

The Chairman of the Parent Teacher Association (PTA), Mr Sebastian Oppong Anane, urged parents and guardians to devote ample time to their children and wards in order to prepare them to be independent adults.

According to him, most parents pursued wealth and ignored the welfare of their children.  He asked what parents would gain if they acquired everything in the world to the detriment of their wards’ proper upbringing.

He, therefore, called on teachers to impart knowledge, skills and good values to the pupils.

Anwomasohene

The Chief of Anwomaso, Nana Osei Boa II, who personally led a delegation of traditional elders to the inaugural ceremony, hailed the organisation for their unflinching support towards the realisation of quality education in the area.

He said although many philanthropic bodies had made promises to the community to help improve education, their promises had come to nought because of their inability to honour their pledges.

The chief called on other philanthropists, corporate bodies, as well as well wishers to emulate the gesture and help augment government’s efforts in providing a solid foundation for future leaders.

Nana Boa II seized the opportunity to call on the natives of Anwomaso who held various leadership positions around the globe to come back home and contribute their quota to the development of the town.

Ministry/orphanage

The Trinity Foundation School is under the supervision of Trinity Foundation Ministry, a religious body which primarily seeks to ‘win souls for Christ’, as well as serve the society, especially the vulnerable.

With its headquarters in the USA, the ministry has over 32 branches in West Africa, 22 in Ghana and the rest in Togo, Benin, Ivory Coast and Burkina Faso.

The ministry, in its quest to serve mankind, has also established an orphanage on the school compound at Anwomaso.

Currently, there are 10 children at the orphanage. However, managers are in talks with the Social Welfare Department to extend their certification to enable them to take in more orphans.
