Give us new DCE for Upper Denkyira West — Denkyira chiefs

The chiefs of Denkyira have asked the President to give them a new district chief executive for the Upper Denkyira West District to accelerate the area’s development.

 The district has been without a DCE for months following the suspension of Mr Daniel Appianin.

 Mr Appianin was suspended for his “unguarded” comments after the killing of Major Maxwell Adam Mahama at Denkyira Obuasi in the Central Region.

 The acting President of the Denkyira Traditional Area, Nana Adjei Nkyiriyie II,said the absence of a DCE was affecting the development of the area.

“If you won’t bring back our DCE, give us a new DCE,” he said.

 Nana Nykyiriyie made the call when the Central Regional Minister, Mr Kwamena Duncan, called on them as part of his working visit to the Upper Denkyira East and West

districts.

 He said the district needed a head to control and steer its development.
