The group, who were celebrating 10 years in the service, decided to support the institute with some of its basic needs.

Basic needs

According to the group, in view of the dire lack of some basic needs in the institute, assistance from corporate organisations and individuals is required to improve and care for the children while they are being corrected.

Presenting the items, Madam Yaa Opoku-Agyeman of the Ghana Immigration Service said the immigration officers were sent to the institute when they were at the immigration training school, and following the quality training they received 10 years ago from the institute, they decided to return to show appreciation.

“After completing training from here 10 years ago, we are back to thank the institute,” she said.

Gratitude

The Chief Superintendent of the institute, Madam Victoria Adzewodah, who received the items, said the institute was grateful for the gesture by the Intake 12 of the Ghana Immigration Service.

She said the items provided would go a long way to solve the basic needs of the institute, which needed corporate assistance with a lot of its challenges.

“We are grateful and promise to use the items well to take care of the children and bring about change in their lives and the society,” she said.
