The streets in some business district areas in some parts of the country have been deserted as traders, hawkers and pedestrians have gone to their various polling stations to exercise their civic responsibility.

Edmund Smith-Asante reports that the streets of the central business district of Accra have been virtually deserted with shops closed.

There is an unusual sparse vehicular and human traffic and one gets a sense of a holiday although today is very much a working day.

All major and individual shops did not open today apart from some corporate offices such as the banks and other financial institutions.

The "mates" of trotros are also crying themselves hoarse for non-existent passengers.

In short anyone with plans to purchase some items must discard the idea or else risk disappointment.

The usual very thick traffic especially during a mid-week day like Wednesday is totally absent.

Samuel Duodu reports from Tamale in the Northern Region that the busy Business District Area in the region has been deserted with most shops closed.

The roads in the business district which records a lot of vehicular traffic and movement by pedestrians and hawkers are also missing as all the streets were quiet with no any traffic and pedestrian movement.

Meanwhile voting in the Tamale Central,  Tamale South and Tamale North, the three constituencies in the Tamale Metropolis with a total of 86 flashpoints put together have so far not record any incidents.

In all a total of 1,427,908 registered voters are to cast their votes across the 31 constituencies in the Northern Region.
