Ghana Life donates blood to 37 Military Hospital
Ghana Life Insurance Company Ltd, the country’s first indigenous life insurance company, has presented some items to the 37 Military Hospital and donated blood as well.

The event, which was to commemorate the 37th anniversary of the company, saw management, staff and sales agents of the company celebrating the unique anniversary at the Children’s Ward of the hospital on the theme: ‘Ghana Life Insurance @37@37 Military Hospital’.
Purpose
Presenting the items, which included a front office workstation and chairs for nurses at the Nkrumah Ward, the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Ghana Life, Mr Ivan Avereyireh, stated that although the company was 37 years old, it was still growing.
“We need to grow with the communities in which we operate. One of such communities is the 37 Military Hospital in particular and the Ghana Armed Forces in general. But we are not growing alone; we grow with people; people need blood to grow,” Mr Avereyireh said and added that “in saving a life by donating a pint of blood, you stand to prolong your own life.”
According to the CEO, the Children’s Ward was specifically chosen because ‘the children we see here today will form our clientele tomorrow, and the ultimate beneficiary will be mother Ghana.”
The company also used the occasion to interact with the children on admission at the ward.
Gratitude
The Commanding Officer of the hospital, Col. Michael Yeboah Agyepong, received the items and expressed their gratitude to the company.
He also used the opportunity to make a clarion call on all well-meaning individuals and corporate bodies to emulate the example of Ghana Life Insurance.
Col. Agyapong said the donation would help to reduce the pressure on them as the country’s foremost national disaster hospital.
The 37 Military Hospital is also celebrating its 75th anniversary this year.
