Ghacem supports Tema New Town Fire Station

Ghacem Limited has donated 200 bags of cement to the Tema New Town Fire Station for the construction of offices for its personnel.

The station currently has limited office space; a development which is affecting the ability of personnel to fight fire in the district.

The Strategy and Corporate Affairs Officer of the company, Mr Solomon Ayiah, who presented the cement to the fire station, said although Ghacem had prioritised education and health for support, the security agencies regularly benefitted from its corporate social responsibilities due to their strategic role in national development.

Pending applications

Mr Ayiah noted that there were pending applications from different units of the Ghana Army and Ghana Police Service which were still receiving attention.

He appealed to applicants to exercise restraint while management reviewed their applications. “We are particularly proud to support the Tema New Town Fire Station of the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) because of the urgent need to provide offices for personnel and also due to the fact that they fall within our area of operation,” he said.

Gratitude

The acting District Fire Officer of the station, Mrs Naomi Quarshie, who received the donation on behalf of the GNFS thanked Ghacem for the support.

She said the unit needed to construct two offices for personnel to promote effective work.

“Ghacem has responded well and we are calling on other corporate institutions to do same to support the security service,” she added.
