Ga South constructs court complex

The Ga South Municipal Assembly has constructed a court complex to boost justice delivery within the municipality.

The GH¢690,781.54 two-storey court complex with two court rooms, two magistrate offices, common washrooms, offices for general staff, as well as two male and female cells with accessible physically challenged facilities has come to solve the acute accommodation shortage bedevilling the judicial service in the area.

MCE

The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) of the Ga South Municipal Assembly, Mr Jerry Akwei Thompson who took delivery of the keys to the building from the contractor, Wakpaly Company Limited, commended the contractor for the completion of the project on schedule.

The building

He explained that the completed building would be handed over to the judicial service to speed up some election-related cases that would come to their attention.

He stated that the main purpose of building the court was to enable the assembly to handle the many cases that came to the assembly from areas such as Oshiyie, Kokrobitey, Aplaku, Oboom and Ngleshie Amanfrom which were all under the assembly and lacked such facilities.

Mr Thompson said plans were underway to build a police station and a court in most of these communities which were prone to chieftaincy disputes, land guard matters and robberies in other to bring sanity to residents to have their peace.
