The Adult Literacy Campaign dubbed, “Enka Akyi” (never too late), is under the auspices of the Vice Chancellor of KNUST, Professor Kwasi Obiri-Danso, and is intended to benefit adults who could not access education in their youth.

According to the founder of the foundation, Ms Joan Benson Nkansah Ntim, the foundation admits people between the ages of 18 and 60.

“The foundation will not be in Kumasi only, but will be established in neighbouring communities and in Accra. In fact, we hope to cover the entire country. There’s the need for all people to enjoy the very nature of life, and education is the tool needed to execute that,” she stated.

Ms Ntim said the foundation strove to add value to people’s lives and to help them identify their values in life.

“The foundation’s mission is to proclaim a new society in which increase in knowledge is diffused as a means of creating long lasting solutions to poverty, abuse and rejection. We believe strongly in the power of knowledge as the main tool to strengthen people and communities,” she said.
