She said as a social development organisation, the foundation, which is a non-profit-making organisation that offers humanitarian services to children and deprived communities, would work in the areas of economic empowerment of women, access to social services and child protection.

Addressing a ceremony to launch the foundation at Sakumono, near Tema, Ms Williams said since it was registered in 2014; the foundation had worked to promote health, socio-economic development, education and the well-being of orphans and persons with disabilities, as well as vulnerable children and women.

Quarterly magazine

The ceremony also saw the launch of the Foundation’s Quarterly Magazine, “Liams Media”, which is registered with the National Media Commission that would highlight the development challenges of communities, issues of non-governmental organisations, and to educate parents on their rights and responsibilities.

Ms Williams said in June this year, the foundation would host Enagic USA, a Christian medical mission team of doctors, physicians, nurses and nutritionists who would address a public lecture on Water Therapy and Nutrition.

They will also donate medical supplies including hospital beds, surgical equipment and consumables, valued at $8 million, to the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital, the 37 Military Hospital, the Akatsi Government Hospital and some deprived communities.

Ms Williams thanked the UKAID, the United States Agency for International Development, the United Nations Children’s Fund and STAR-Ghana for their enormous support towards the achievement of the foundation’s goals.
