She is alleged to have committed the suicide she was trailing in her course.

A terse, handwritten note allegedly found on her bed at her Independence Hall room 142 said: “Sorry mummy and daddy for not been the girl you want me to be.”

University authorities confirmed to the Daily Graphic a day after the sad incident that the deceased hanged herself with a rope over a ceiling fan and was found dead by one of the roommates.

In her narration to the University Relations Office the roommate (name withheld), attempted to save her colleague by cutting the rope but Adwoa was already dead.

The body of the deceased believed to be the daughter of the Member of Parliament for Asante Akyem Central, Kwame Anyimadu-Antwi, has been deposited at the KNUST medical school morgue.

Until her death, the former Aburi Girls SHS and Good Shepherd JHS student never showed any sign of depression but on the day of the incident, she was said to have feigned illness and was left alone in the room while her colleagues went for lectures.

KNUST police
The district police commander for KNUST, DSP Boakye Ansah, told the Daily Graphic that investigations into the incident was underway. "For now we are treating it as purely a suicide case until proven otherwise," he said.

The University Relations Office is expected to issue a statement on the incident shortly.
