Ex-convict back in jail two weeks after release
An ex-convict who was released from jail after serving two years at the Wa Central Prison in the Upper West Region is back in jail two weeks later to serve eight-year jail term with hard labour.

Yahaya Fatawu, an apprentice carpenter, was found guilty by the Wa Magistrate Court for stealing electrical gadgets valued at GH¢470 belonging to Mr Alex Azugah, a civil servant, in Wa.
Fatawu, 20, got his previous jail term for stealing a motorbike.
Prosecuting, Detective Sergeant Famous Agbasah told the court that two weeks after his release from jail, Fatawu broke into the house of Mr Azugah in broad daylight at Kambali, a suburb of Wa on November 14, this year.
Luck, however, run out for Fatawu when Mr Azugah returned home during the midday break and found Fatawu in his hall packing his electrical gadgets; decoder, television set, modem, pen drives, among others, the Prosecutor said.
Sergeant Agbasah said Fatawu bolted with the booty after threatening to stab Mr Azugah with a knife if he dared stand in his way.
Mr Azugah then reported the theft and threat to the Wa Divisional Police Station.
The police later traced Fatawu to his hideout and arrested him.
Upon interrogation, Fatawu admitted the offence and returned the items to the owner.
However, this did not stop the police from arraigning him.
Sentencing him, the Presiding Judge, Justice Baah Forson Agyapong, said given the conduct of Fatawu who had just returned from jail, he should be punished with an enhanced jail term to serve as a deterrent to others with similar mind.
He promised to deal sternly with acts that threatened the peace of the area and, therefore, cautioned the youth to desist from such bad habits which are common in the municipality.
