Eva Lokko passes on

Ms Eva Lokko, a former Director General of the Ghana Broadcasting Corporation (GBC), has passed on.

News indicated that Ms Lokko passed on yesterday but the Daily Graphic was yet to get the details as of the time of going to press.
Ms Lokko was the first satellite communications engineer in Ghana, first woman engineer at the GBC and one of the engineers who installed the first colour television infrastructure for Ghana.
She was the only female Director-General of the GBC, since its inception in 1935.
Ms Lokko was the running mate to Dr Paa Kwesi Nduom of the Progressive People’s Party (PPP) in the 2012 elections.
She was the parliamentary candidate for the PPP in Klottey Korley for this year’s elections.
