Vegfest 2015

The 10th Vegfest is being organised by the Vegetarian Association of Ghana (VegGhana) on the theme, “Go Organic Save the Planet”.

Vegfest aims at creating awareness of eating organic foods. It is scheduled for the Efua Sutherland Children’s Park in Accra on Saturday, October 25, 2015.

The programme itinerary indicates that there will be an organic vegetable market where fresh food items from different farms will be displayed.

There will also be a food preparation workshop to be run by vegetarian chefs at which people will learn how to cook HEALTHY DIETS.

Visitors to the Vegfest, who are not vegetarians, will also have the opportunity to interact with members of VegGhana and learn how to become vegetarians.

A vegetarian’s experience

A member of the Vegetarian Association, Nana Gabby, who shared his experience as a vegetarian, said he had been relieved of some allergies.

“This will be a great opportunity for Ghanaians, as well as visitors to taste traditional vegetarian dishes that have almost been forgotten in Ghana and to listen to enlightened speakers on varied topics that will add value to your lifestyle,” he said of the festival.

Nana Gabby urged members of VegGhana to create awareness of the benefits of being a vegan, emphasising that it was not a way of life but life itself.
