This brings to three the number of bungalows built for doctors working at the facility. The latest was awarded on contract to Mr Francis Owusu of God’s Favour and Mercy Limited, a construction firm.

The facility was at a cost of GH¢189,089, an amount raised from the hospital’s Internally Generated Funds (IGF).

At the inaugural ceremony, the immediate past Medical Superintendent of the hospital, Dr Prince Kwakye Afriyie, commended authorities of the hospital for “a dream come true.”

He said he had been working at the facility since the year 2004, and for the hospital to raise that amount from its IGF was a feather in its cap.

Dr Afriyie handed over the hospital to the new Medical Superintendent, Dr Sebastian Tantuoyir, and expressed the hope that the bungalow would provide an enabling environment to help him offer quality health care to the people.

The President of the Ashanti South Ghana Conference (ASGC) of the SDA Church, Pastor Stephen Anokye, was joined by the acting President of Assumigya Traditional Council, Nana Ntim Banahene, to cut the tape to dedicate the bungalow to the glory of God.

Pastor Anokye, who is also the Board Chairman of the hospital, said the facility was working hard to improve on the conditions of its workers and that the inauguration of the bungalow was a manifestation of that drive.

He said having been operating under the Christian Health Association of Ghana (CHAG), the hospital was one of the biggest referral points in the area and it would need to provide a decent living environment for its staff.

Dr Tantouyir observed that the hospital faced congestion challenges, and, therefore, appealed to the government and civil society organisations (CSOs) to help undertake expansion works on the facility.

That to him would contribute to the intellectual, material and human resource development of the hospital towards the attainment of the health goals of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
