Dome-Kwabenya market gets 20-member oversight c’ttee
A 20-Member management committee has been inaugurated to steer the affairs of the Dome-Kwabenya market in the Ga East municipality of the Greater Accra Region.

The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), Ms Janet Tulasi Mensah, charged the committee to mobilise revenue and provide oversight responsibility for running the market.
“It has become imperative to put in place such a committee to ensure that the assembly and our hardworking market women and men maximise gains from this market,” she said, adding that the Dome market was the economic hub and engine for the growth of the municipality.

The MCE expressed confidence in the committee and said she expected it to take up the task seriously to ensure its success.
“I want to reiterate that the economic advancement of the people in the municipality, particularly women, is dear to my heart and I will not rest until adequate measures have been put in place to upgrade the market at Dome, Haatso and Taifa to become competitive trading centres in the Greater Accra Region and beyond,” she stated.
Commitment
According to Ms Mensah, the Member of Parliament (MP) for the Dome-Kwabenya Constituency, Ms Sarah Adwoa Safo, had pledged to construct more sheds to accommodate those who could not afford and operate from the existing shops.
She urged the women to bury their differences and make the agenda of “creating prosperity and equal opportunity for all” an enviable model among them.
The Coordinating Director of the Municipal Assembly, Alhaji Shehu Kadin, later urged the members to make good use of the opportunity given them and advised them to be committed to their work.
