Do not allow men to distract your education — Lady Julia
The wife of the Asantehene, Lady Julia Osei Tutu, has advised girls not to allow men to distract them from their education.

She said there was the need for all girls to take their education seriously to be able to attain higher heights in education to support the nation’s development.
Lady Julia gave the advice when she addressed students and staff members of the Saint Louis Senior High School in Kumasi.
The visit was aimed at mentoring the students and encouraging them to concentrate on their education.
Lady Julia, who is the Patron of the Serwaa Ampem Foundation for Children, has began an initiative to create awareness of the need for girls to see themselves as capable of reaching higher heights.
As part of the initiative, she will be visiting most senior high schools in the country to mentor the students, especially girls.

During the visit, Lady Julia donated 5,000 note books and 2,000 pens to the students, as well as a laptop to the headmistress.
She commended the management and staff members of the school for the discipline and academic record of the school and urged them to work hard to maintain their record.
“Parents should avoid being overprotective of their children and support teachers and society in general to create an opportunity for their children to receive the best training for tomorrow,” Lady Julia said.
The Headmistress of the school, Mrs Theresa Addae, was full of praise for Lady Julia for her role in the development of education in the country.
She mentioned congestion at the dormitories and inadequate toilet facilities as some of the challenges confronting the school and called for help to ensure that the students had a conducive environment to learn.
As part of Lady Julia’s visit, there was a medical doctor who educated the students on menstruation and a banker who took them through prospects in the banking industry.
