Deejay jailed for stealing
A 20-year-old Deejay, Jacob Adu, has been sentenced by the Odumase Krobo Circuit Court to 12 months’ imprisonment for stealing a laptop belonging to one Godwin Tettey-Sey, valued at GHc1, 100.00.

The said laptop was however retrieved later and given back to the lawful owner.
The facts of the case as presented by ASP Richmond Akwasi Yeboah, presided over by Mr Frank Yao Gbeddy, were that the owner of the laptop, Godwin Tettey-Sey, a teacher, and Adu lived in the same area at Odumase Krobo.
He said about three months ago, Tettey-Sey was carrying a luggage from his car to his house and Adu offered to help.
The prosecutor said few days later, Tettey- Sey was at home when Adu came over to visit him, stayed for some time and left.
ASP Yeboah continued that on another occasion, Adu went to Tettey-Sey and told him his (Adu’s) wife was sick and he needed money to renew her Health Insurance card.
The prosecutor said out of sympathy, Tetteh-Sey offered him some money to renew the card and he left.
Prosecution continued that on March 16, 2016, the complainant was watching a movie on his HP laptop at home when Adu showed up again under the pretext of visiting him.
ASP yeboah said both of them watched the movie on the laptop until Tettey-Sey left Adu and went into his bedroom to sleep. When the complainant woke up later, Adu had left and his laptop was nowhere to be found.
A month later, Tettey-Sey met Adu in town and told him to return his laptop to him and Adu promised to do same but failed to comply until June 3, 2016 when the complainant again met him in town and had him arrested.
During police interrogation, Adu was aid to have told the police that the laptop was with someone at Sekesua near Asesewa in the Upper Manya Krobo District.
He said the police took the convict to Sekesua and the laptop was retrieved.
