Christ Love Church marks first anniversary

A Pastor of the Calvary Baptist Church, Reverend Chris Sottie, has admonished Christians to be disciplined and committed to their walk with God.

He charged them to be mindful of life after death and the judgement day, urging them to stand firm and defend their faith in the Lord Jesus Christ even in the face of persecution.

Rev. Sottie gave the advice in a sermon during a thanksgiving service to commemorate the first anniversary of the Christ Love Community Church at West Adentan.

The event attracted a large number of people, including opinion and community leaders as well as families and friends.

The anniversary also coincided with the inauguration of the church choir, ordination of six new deacons and sod cutting for a new church building.

Preaching the sermon on the theme “Keeping a Straight Path in a Crooked World”, he said “many people think there is no life after death so they go about chasing worldly things but I want to remind you that there is definitely a place to go after death but one must be qualified to go there” and supported his message with Matthew 11:21–25.

Sod cutting

Head pastor of the church, Rev Emmanuel Narh, cut the sod for the construction of a 500-seater auditorium.

He said the building was estimated to cost GH¢750,000 and will include a children’s department, a gallery, washrooms, stores, car park and offices for administration.

Rev. Narh, who also ordained the six deacons of the church, encouraged them to take up the mantle and work satisfactorily in the various offices assigned them, win souls, groom and make them responsible Christians.
