As part of his plans to further the cause of the Chinese community in Ghana, he said he will setup a new structure for Chinese societies, key among them - The Ghana Association of Chinese Societies, Ghana-Chinese Chamber of Commerce and the Council for the Promotion of Peaceful Reunification of China in Ghana, adding that he is committed to bringing more people on board.

According to Mr Hong, the unity of Chinese nationals is of paramount importance to him, hence will make efforts to ensure his compatriots live legitimately in the country.

To do this end, he said, he is in discussion with relevant ministries, the Mineral Commission and other stakeholders in order to regularise some Chinese business operations in the country.

He advised Chinese nationals to conduct legitimate businesses for the mutual benefit of both countries, and that it was the only way to make their stay in Ghana legal.

"I want them (Chinese) to do business here legally and to make money because when they make money they make it together with the Ghanaian so that the Ghanaian society will like them, cooperate with them so they can accept each other as brother and sister (sic), He added.

Subsequently, he cautioned Chinese nationals to stay clear of partisan and political issues in the country.

According to him a business man should not be involved in any political issue but rather on business activities that will promote development.
