The programme was organised by the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) in Seoul to provide an opportunity for the delegation to learn of the development experience of Korea and how it could be beneficial to Ghana.

Among other issues, the delegation learnt about the tourism industry, agriculture, small and medium-scale businesses and health in Korea.

The delegation comprised the chief directors or representatives of ministries, including finance, youth and sports, Health, Defence, chieftaincy, communication, as well as the civil service.

Relations between Ghana and Korea have grown steadily since the two countries first established diplomatic relations in 1977.

Korea was a poor country, with a struggling economy, in the 70s, but has now succeeded in  becoming one of the biggest economies in the world.

How Korea was able to turn its development around was the focus of the training programme for the Ghanaian delegation.
