‘Check health status regularly’

The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of UltraLab Diagnostic Centre (UDC), a private laboratory in Accra, Mr Anwar Sfarjilani, has urged the public to consider checking their health status regularly.

He noted that regular health examination and tests would make it easier for individuals to know their health status so that they would settle for the relevant treatment and cure.

Furthermore, he said by getting the right health services, screenings and treatment, “you are taking steps that will improve your chances of living longer in order to enjoy a healthier life.”

Free health screening

Mr Sfarjilan gave the recommendation at a free health-screening exercise organised by UDC in Accra last Saturday.

More than 400 people living at East Legon and its environs were screened for hepatitis B, syphilis and malaria, among other diseases. The participants were also educated on ways of managing their blood pressure, knowing their blood group and controlling their sugar levels.

The CEO of UltraLab Diagnostic Centre said the exercise was part of the laboratory’s corporate social responsibility to the community.

Some participants tested positive for hepatitis and were advised by the medical team to seek further medical attention.

Mr Alidu Salifu, a beneficiary of the exercise, commended UltraLab Diagnostic Centre for coming to the aid of the community.
