Advice

The President of the CIMG, Mr Kojo Mattah, advised marketers to focus on cause-related marketing to help address some of the challenges confronting society.

He explained that cause-related marketing was a marketing strategy in which a company connected its marketing and sales goals to a social cause.

He mentioned illegal mining, poverty, disease, child labour, filth, road accidents, among others, as some of the causes that marketers could focus on.

“The beauty of this is that while corporate organisations are doing normal marketing or sales activities, they tie them to the change factor which endears the organisations to society as responsible organisations, with the ripple effect of attracting more customers,’’ he said.

Commendation

In a speech read on his behalf, the Kwahumanhene, Daasebre Akuamoah Agyepong II, who was the special guest of honour, commended the government for its determined fight against illegal mining.

“Let us all join hands with the government to ensure that this fight succeeds to bring about change to protect our environment,’’ he said.
