The items, which were donated at the premises of the St Margaret-Mary’s Catholic Church, included exercise books, clothes, shoes and an undisclosed amount of money.

Presenting the items, the President of the association, Ms Leninsor Kakrabah-Quarshie, said the donation formed part of the association’s 20th anniversary celebrations adding “This year, we decided to donate to parishes in deprived communities as part of the celebrations and our responsibility to the needy in society. Some of the children in these communities do not have access to basic things such as clothing and books.”

The Financial Administrator of the Donkorkrom Vicariate, Rev Fr Stephen Kofi Sakpaku, who received the items, commended the association for the donation stating that it will go a long way to improve the education of the children in the community

He further appealed to the government to provide access roads to enable farmers in the community to transport their produce to market areas.
