The anniversary, which was on the theme: “Calvary Methodist Church: 90 Years Walking with Christ,” was attended by the Vice President, Kwesi Amissah-Arthur.

Some of the activities that were organised as part of the 90th anniversary celebration included a walk, clean-up exercise, drama on the history of the church by the various organisations in the church and dinner and awards night.

In his sermon at the thanksgiving service, the Presiding Bishop of the Methodist Church Ghana, Most Rev. Titus K. Awotwi Pratt, asked Christians to be obedient and work hard to serve God’s purpose for humanity.

“Those who came before us persevered. If we are celebrating our 90th anniversary in this edifice, it is because they toiled and sacrificed their resources in obedience to God. The onus lies on us to continue to work in faith with God for generations after us to also benefit,” he added.

Most Rev. Awotwi urged the people to be obedient and walk in righteousness, stressing that they should not follow the desires of the flesh but rather seek the favour of God in order to overcome their earthly weaknesses.
