The gesture is aimed at supporting institutions which are devoted to enhancing the lives of groups and individuals as well as creating opportunities for the under privileged in the society in the country.

The institutions which benefited from the gesture were the Ghana Association of the Deaf, Komla Afeke Dumor Foundation, 1999 Presbyterian Boys Senior High  School (PRESEC), Legon,  year group, Ghana Police Service (CID), APSU 91 and Ghana Police Department Fund.

Speaking at the ceremony, the Assistant General Manager, Risk and Compliance, Mr Charles Amoah, noted that CAL Bank had over the years supported various institutions across the country, especially in the essential and service delivery sectors of the economy and the end result had been phenomenal.

 Lending a hand

“Lending a hand to institutions which are poised to impact positively in society is our core reason and existence” he stressed.

Mr Amoah further mentioned that as a bank, it was their policy to set aside portions of their profit to support the needy in the society to improve their living conditions.

Mr Amoah said  those gestures had yielded positive results, especially as some students from institutions which benefited from the support were provided the opportunity to work with the bank.

The Office Manager of Komla Afeke Dumor Foundation, Mrs Rosedarling Otuquaye said, the kind gesture from CAL bank was timely and expressed the hope that it would go a long way to affirm the core reason for the establishment of the foundation which sought to improve broadcast journalism and support the Ghana Heart Foundation as well.
