‘Be guided by your faith in your campaigns’

The immediate past Moderator of the General Assembly of the Evangelical Presbyterian Church, Ghana, Very Rev. Francis Amenu, has entreated political party activists to be guided by their faith in their actions and utterances by eschewing politics of lies and vindictiveness as they campaign.

He has also urged religious bodies not to relent in their prayers and crusade against the rising incidence of insubordination in the country.

“We are bound by our stewardship duty as a faith entity to curb and sanitise this country of the high levels of indiscipline, immorality and other forms of evil deeds that are corrupting our society,” the former moderator stated.

Induction

Very Rev. Amenu was speaking at an induction ceremony held in Accra for newly elected national executive officers of the E.P Church’s Men’s Fellowship. The eight-member executive body was unanimously re-elected for another four-year tenure by delegates at the 18th annual national delegates’ conference.

He observed that by virtue of their leadership roles, men were very influential in society and, therefore, tasked the men’s fellowship to let their conduct be worthy of emulation and serve with a spirit of dedication to bring hope to the hopeless.

Condemnation

The West Volta Presbytery Synod Moderator of the E.P Church, Ghana, Rev. Dr Mac-Wilson Atakro, also condemned the rising incidence of gay practice and infidelity in society.

The Registrar of the Ghana Medical and Dental Council, Dr Eli Atikpui, called on various groups within the church to demonstrate more commitment by harnessing resources to transform the church into a reputable  religious organisation.

The National President of the fellowship, Charles Gunu, thanked members for the confidence reposed in the leadership. Other inductees included Messrs Foster Agotse, Elikem Kotoku, Alfred Dzakpasu, Samuel Aboni, Sampson Bulley and Nelson Tamakloe.
