Assemblies of God Church donates to two Adabraka schools
The Assemblies of God Church, Adabraka District, has donated 850 branded exercise books to two deprived junior high schools (JHS) at Adabraka in Accra.

Five hundred of the books were donated to the Amugi Junior High School (JHS) and the other 350 to the Amusudai JHS.
The donation formed part of the church’s annual Republic Day health walk activities. The event was attended by members of the church from branches at Osu, Osu Ringway, James Town, Asylum Down, Agbogbloshie, Circle and Adabraka.
Children at heart
Presenting the items to the schools, the Pastor in charge of the Adabraka District of the church, Rev. Dr Lawrence Ablorh, said the donation was part of the church’s corporate social activities.
He said the church was concerned for the welfare of children, hence its decision to donate the exercise books to facilitate the studies of the students.
“We decided to help students because they are the future leaders of the country and their future must be assured. The donation is our small way of contributing to make their dreams achievable,” he said.
He encouraged the students to take their studies seriously as the future of the country depended on them, adding that “studying seriously would ensure that your future and that of the country would not look bleak.”
Appreciation
Receiving the items on behalf of students of the Amugi JHS, a teacher of the school, Mr Alfred Asibgey, expressed the gratitude of students of the school for the gift and asked for God’s blessings for the church.
“The books have come at a right time because many of the students are unable to buy learning materials including exercise books.
“A sizeable number of the students live with either relatives or caretakers and sometimes sell in the streets before coming to school. In short, life is very difficult for them but we thank God for people like you,” he said and called on other churches to emulate the gesture.
