Ashifla, which is under the Ngleshie Alata Paramount Stool in Accra, boasts many commercial pineapple farms, prominent among them being the Gold Coast Fruits Limited at Otanten and Golden Exotics Limited at Agbazo.

This has provided opportunities for businessmen who want to engage in agro-processing.

There is also a stone quarry at Tenbibian.

Addressing the durbar, Nii Okudzeman I, Divisional Chief of Ngleshie Ashifla, said 25 acres of land had been demarcated for a neighbourhood centre at Akoteaku as part of the division’s development plan.

He said 150 acres had also been demarcated for secondary and post-secondary educational facilities at Abuadze.

Nii Okudzeman said the construction of a CHPS compound by the Ga South District Assembly at Akoteaku had already begun, while a site for the construction of a private hospital at Otanten had also been demarcated.

He said a police station at Tenbibian was also near completion.

Touching on the menace of land guards in the region, the chief sounded a caution that the youth of Ashifla were wide awake and prepared to defend their lands against their nefarious activities.

Nii Okudzeman called on the district assembly to see to the logical completion of the road network from Amasaman to Ashifla currently under construction.

Nii Akwei Bonsu, the representative of Oblempong Kojo Ababio V, Paramount Chief of the Ngleshie Alata Traditional Council, called on the people to unite behind their chief for the rapid development of the area.
