Ashanti SDA orgainses youth camps
The Bantama-Ohwim District and the Amakom Sector of the Seventh-day Adventist Church (SDA) have ended their Annual Youth Camps with a call on the youth to channel their capabilities towards building the nation.

The Amakom Sector of the SDA Church, comprising all of the 11 different districts of the church in the Ashanti Region — Amakom, Ahinsan, Kyerepatre, Esreso, Bomso, Stadium, Asowase, Asafo, Kuntenase, Ayigya and Anwomaso — held its youth camp in Asante Akyem Agogo in the Asante Akyem North District. It was on the theme: “The Adventist Youth: An Agent of Revival and the Prophetic Truth”.
The Amakom District Pastor of the SDA, Rev. Elvis Asiamah, said just as the youth helped the church to progress, they should likewise channel their energies to ensure that the nation as well was developed.
The Amakom Sector President of the SDA, Mr Samuel Amoabeng, and the Amakom Sector Pastor in charge of the Youth, Mr Nathaniel Frimpong Manso, urged the youth to not engage in vices such as corruption, armed robbery and other socially-disapproving behaviour associated with the youth. Both personalities stated that it was important for the youth to be disciplined and fear God.
The group of SDA youth from the Amakom Sector of the church on the occasion donated blood in support of the Blood Bank at the Agogo Presbyterian Hospital. They also engaged in clean-up exercises at the Agogo chief’s palace.
The Bantama and Ohwim districts of the SDA church held their collaborative youth camp at Trabuom in the Atwima Kwanwoma District of the Ashanti Region. As part of the event, the campers cleaned the campus of the Afua Kobi Girls Senior High School and portions of the Trabuom town.
The Camp Director, Master Guide Stephen Boakye, urged the group members to ensure cleanliness at all times and endeavour to stay righteous always.
The Host Pastor, Kwabena Kagya, said the present age of computer technology was taking the minds of many youth from God and making them concentrate on disgraceful behaviours. He advised the youth to be steadfast in order not to be swayed to engage in sinful acts.
