Among the measures, the company has asked customers to look out for staff numbers of their workers which is laminated and boldly embossed on the breast pockets of their all-blue overall jackets and duly signed by the Director of Human Resources.

At a maiden Customers Day held across the region, customers were taken through some specific features of the new mechanisms which also included the ID cards bearing the ECG logo.

The manager in charge of Public Relations and Communications of ECG, Ashanti, Erasmus K. Baidoo, told clients to be bold to challenge suspected officials of the company and be prepared to follow them to any of the offices if they were in doubt.

Among some of the key issues which the company felt was tarnishing the image of the ECG was the sale of pre-paid meters.

He insisted, ‘the pre-paid meters are not for sale and anyone who attempts to sell should be reported to the police immediately for their arrest.’

At the frank and open forum dominated by the new tariff system, officials of the company ran customers through the ‘0-5 time line’ which has been in contention especially for subscribers in the region.

In order to deal with the recent long queues in purchasing pre-paid units or credits, the company has promised to increase the vending stations to resolve the situation.

The forum which was held simultaneously in all 15 business centres in the region, also addressed issues bordering on faulty meters, estimated bills and reading of meters.
