In a statement, the leader of the church reminded Nana Addo that his victory was a clear indication that Ghanaians had confidence in him to deliver on his campaign promises.

“As the incoming President of the Republic of Ghana, it is our cherished expectation that the high hopes that you offered Ghanaians while in opposition would be actualised during your presidency. To this end, the Apostolic Church-Ghana will continue to pray for your success.

“May the faith you placed in God throughout the campaign period never dessert you; and may you align your presidency closely to the will of God so as to make Ghana 'the miracle of Africa,” it said.

Challenges

The church observed that in spite of the numerous challenges the country faced such as the electricity power crisis, fire outbreaks and road accidents, God showed his mercy on the nation.

The statement also expressed appreciation to Ghanaians for rising up to the occasion during the “difficult moments and displaying such patience and tolerance.”

Commendation

The church further commended key stakeholders including the Electoral Commission (EC), the National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE), the Media, and security agencies for their various roles in ensuring that the polls were conducted successfully.

While condemning the post electoral violences in some parts of the country, the statement also commended the Ghana Police Service for its quick response in bringing the situation under control.

“We hope, therefore, that the New Patriotic Party (NPP) government, under your leadership, would systematically and progressively improve the logistics and equipment base to sharpen the security task forces' effectiveness and readiness towards future elections.

“We also pray for God’s blessing and protection over the period of your presidency; and may the peace of God rule in your heart even as you continue to enjoy the amazing grace and extravagant love of our Lord Jesus Christ,” it concluded.
