This is the first time schools in the district have been provided with teachers’ bungalows. The buildings were put up by the government to support teachers in the area with accommodation.

The DCE, who was accompanied by the Presiding Member of the assembly, Mr Akuoko Kwarteng, inaugurated a four-unit bungalow at the Manso Adubia Senior High School (SHS) at Adubia.

The building was constructed at a cost of GH¢156,000 from the District Assemblies Common Fund (DACF).

A similar bungalow was also inaugurated at the Mansoman SHS in Manso Atwere. It cost  GH¢209,000 also from the  DACF.

The third to be inaugurated by the DCE was a three-unit classroom block with an office for the Manso Nkwanta Methodist Primary School at Manso Nkwanta, the district capital.

An amount of GH¢159,000, this time from the District Development Fund (DDF), was spent on the building.

Media Briefing

Briefing the media at Manso Nkwanta after inaugurating the three projects, the DCE said the government was committed to changing the lives of the people in the area and that the inauguration of the building in support of education was evidence of that commitment.

He said education remained a priority in a developing country such as Ghana and a growing district such as the Amansie West.

He said the government would work tirelessly to improve the living conditions of the people and as such urged them to continue to have faith in the government of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC).

The Public Relations Officer of the Amansie West District Directorate of Education, Mr Francis Akwasi Obeng on behalf of the directorate, expressed gratitude to the assembly for the support.

He urged the authorities at the various schools to take good care of the buildings in order that they may last to serve many generations.
