Amaniampong Kro Ye Kuo rehabilitates Mampong Antenatal Ward
A group of Ghanaians from Asante-Mampong who are based in the United Kingdom (UK) has rehabilitated the antenatal ward of the Asante Mampong Municipal Hospital at a cost of GH¢46,700.

The group, calling itself Amaniampong Kro Ye Kuo, changed the floor tiles, roofing, water closet and replaced other facilities that had broken down in the six-room ward.
They also provided a water reservoir and converted one of the rooms in the ward into a VIP section with first-class facilities.
The Treasure of the association, Major Abdulah Kwadwo Nsiah (retd), handed over the keys to the newly rehabilitated ward to the Medical Superintendent of the hospital, Dr Nyarko-Jectey.

Major Nsiah said the group was moved to come to the rescue of the ward when he noticed the bad state of the facility during one of his trips from his base in the UK to Asante Mampong.
He said on his return, he informed members of his group about the state of the antenatal ward and the group agreed to help bring it up to standard.
“The new antenatal ward will not only benefit citizens from Mampong only but other communities outside it that patronise the hospital,” he said.
Mr Nsiah said the association was currently undertaking a restoration of the hospital’s children's ward with the aim of opening it up to enable it to admit more patients.
Over the years, he said, the association had provided some projects in the Mampong Municipality.
For instance, he said the group had provided a public place of convenience for the people of Worakese, a suburb of Asante Mampong.

On behalf of the management of the hospital, Dr Jectey commended the association for the gesture, adding that it was a timely intervention.
He gave an assurance of the resolve of management of the hospital to ensure that the ward and other renovated installations were properly maintained.
