All must join hands to develop Odumase - Otuo Siriboe

The Omanhene of Juaben Traditional Area, Nana Otuo Siriboe II, has charged the people of Odumase in the Asante Akyem District in the Ashanti Region to eschew all negative tendencies and throw their weight behind their chief to push their community to achieve progress and prosperity.

He said Odumase was one of the ancient towns in Asanteman and it could only grow with the support of its indigenes to rise above its present state of development.

Nana Otuo Siriboe said this when he addressed a durbar of chiefs and people of Odumase on the occasion of the 10th anniversary of the enstoolment of Nana Kofi Antwi II as Odumasehene and the 35th anniversary of the elevation of the Odumase stool to the Nifa Division of Juaben Asante.

Qualities of Odumase

He said the people of Odumase were lucky to have an energetic, young and highly educated man as their chief and must therefore rally behind him to achieve an accelerated socio-economic development for their community.

Nana Otuo Siriboe said he was aware of several plans Nana Kofi Antwi had for Odumase, and that the plans could only be realised if the people and elders stood behind him.

In his remarks, Nana Kofi Antwi thanked the Juabenhene for finding time to attend the ceremony and promised to continue to draw inspiration from his overlord for the realisation of the full potential of Odumase.

He said Odumase was eternally grateful to Juaben for elevating the Odumase stool to the Nifa Division of Juaben 35 years ago.

Development projects

According to Nana Kofi Antwi, during the past 10 years, he had set up various committees which had worked tirelessly with him and the people to improve the fortunes of the Odumase community.

He mentioned that a new police station was almost completed to ensure the maintenance of law and order in the community while there had been a major renovation of facilities such as the post office, the  main bus stop and the construction of a CHPS compound to take care of the health needs of the people.

Among the plans for the future, according to Nana Kofi Antwi, were the construction of a police barracks, a social centre that would house an ICT laboratory, education offices and the construction of a nurses training college.
