Focus

The exhibition, which is expected to focus on the full value chain in the agricultural sector, is aimed at supporting the government‘s flagship policy of Planting for Food and Jobs.

It will bring together stakeholders in the agricultural sector value chain and is expected to increase knowledge in services to agro processing and farming.

The organisers expect that the exhibition will translate into an increase in productivity and profits in farming and agro- processing.

Briefing journalists on the upcoming event, the General Manager of Reed Exhibitions Africa, Madam Adele Eloff, said the fair would create a platform for knowledge transfer to farmers and agro processors wanting to expand their businesses.

She said the government’s policies of Planting for Food and Jobs, one-district, one-factory and one-village, one-dam were laudable and that her company was in the country to help achieve President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo’s vision.

Exhibits

On what more to expect, Madam Eloff said on display would be a wide range of agro-processing equipment and technology, farming equipment, technology and inputs to support value-added production.

She said there would also be operational products, services and systems supporting agro-processing, plants, knowledge and training workshops for farmers and agro processors, as well as a two-day conference for large-scale manufacturers.

In a statement, the Head of the Public Relations Department of the Ministry of Food and Agriculture, Mr Bagbara Tanko, said the ministry was deeply involved in the exhibition.

He said the government’s flagship programmes placed a requirement on the private sector to partner the government to realise its vision.

Mr Tanko said the ministry thus wanted the private sector to bring on board technology, ideas and initiatives to help achieve success.
