The building, which is part of their contribution to better the life of people in the area, has two consulting rooms, a waiting area, a pharmacy, a store unit, an accounts office, a laboratory, detention, injection and dressing rooms.

So far, the association has completed all the drawings of the structure, cleared the site and started with construction works on the foundation.

The association is made up of people from the area. Communities expected to benefit from the services of the hospital upon completion are Boamang, Amoako, Kyerekrom, Maase, Adukrom, Soko and Abromah.

Association

The Canada Wing Coordinator of the association, Mr Kwame Amoateng, who cut the sod for the commencement of the project, said the group consisted of citizens from the area who reside in Europe and the Americas who wanted to help their kinsmen back home.

He explained that the group was formed by some public-spirited indigenes from the area.

The funds for the project were realised from contributions of members. Mr Amoateng gave an assurance that there were enough funds to complete the entire project to help promote health delivery services in the area.

He urged all indigenes (both home and abroad) to contribute their quota for the accelerated development of the area.

Commendation

The pastor of the Boamang Baptist Church, who is also the chairman of the project committee, Mr Godfred Asakpam, commended members of the association for committing their resources to the development of the area.

He called on the people to also lend their support through communal labour to ensure the speedy completion of the project.

The pastor mentioned the lack of essential equipment as well as an ambulance, as some of the challenges confronting the health centre.
