Adabraka June 3 victims receive support

Victims of the June 3 flood and fire disasters at Adabraka in Accra have been presented with relief items by a private company, FAR East Mercantile Limited.

The items, valued at GH¢20,000, included bags of sachet water, boxes of biscuits, disinfectants, soft drinks and baby diapers.

They were presented by the External Relations Manager of the company, Ms Nafisa Ewurama Quainoo. She was accompanied by the Legal Affairs Manager of the company, Mr Festus Frimpong, and the Fleet Manager, Mr Teddy Asamoah.

The donation was facilitated by the Graphic Communications Group Limited (GCGL), led by the Corporate Communications Manager, Mr Albert Sam.

According to the company, it was moved by the plight of the victims to make the donation.

Ms Quainoo said the donation also formed part of the company’s corporate social responsibility.

The Queenmother of Adabraka, Naa Korkor Aadzieoyi I, who received the items on behalf of the victims, thanked the company for the support.

She said the chiefs and people of Adabraka were touched by the public’s show of love and care to the victims of the June 3 twin disaster.
Mr Sam intimated that some companies had also indicated their intention to assist the victims, “as and when they’re ready, we’ll bring them,” he said.
