Acting IGP makes third reshuffle: ASP Tanko moves to Tamale

The Acting Inspector General of Police, David Asante-Apeatu has made his third reshuffle to the top hierarchy of the Ghana Police Service since assuming office on January 25.

His latest re-assignments sees the Public Relations Officer for the Ashanti Regional Police Command, ASP Yusif Mohammed Tanko, moving to the Northern Regional capital, Tamale, to head the Communications Department, while his replacement Public Relations Officer for the Eastern Regional Police Command , Yaw Nketia –Yeboah, moves to Kumasi.

In the first set of changes after Asante-Apeatu was appointed, Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCOP), Mr Bright Oduro, who was Director General in charge of Welfare was moved to the CID as the new Director General.

The second set of changes in the Command Positions of the Police Service saw COP Mr Frank Adu-Poku who was Director General of Technical, moving to take charge of Services while COP Ms Rose Bio Atinga, the former Director General for Research and Planning was shifted to head Technical.

Mr David Asante-Apeatu was appointed by President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo as acting IGP following the retirement of Mr John Kudalor.
