The computers, which are meant to facilitate service delivery, were presented to the Head of Civil Service, National Population Council (NPC) and the Public Records and Archives Administration Department.

At a short ceremony in Accra yesterday to hand over the items, Mrs Ghansah noted that the non-availability of quality tools and equipment posed a serious threat to the attainment of organisational goals.

“I am of the firm conviction that the supply of these office equipment will motivate you and enhance your service delivery,” she said.

Improved performance

The Head of Civil Service, Nana Kwasi Agyekum-Dwamena, who received the computers on behalf of the institutions, said the items would enhance performance in terms of service delivery.

“The computers will enhance the performance management culture and responsiveness of the civil service to the citizens,” he said.

He said the performance of the service had improved over the years due to an enhanced monitoring and evaluation regime.

Nana Agyekum-Dwamena indicated that the greatest challenge that the civil service faced was the poor attitude towards time management.

He said the civil service had mainstreamed anti-corruption mechanisms to monitor the performance of all chief directors of state agencies.
