The block has a conference room and was constructed for the school by a tax consultant and former Commissioner of the Ghana Revenue Authority, Mr Kwame Ofosuhene  Apenteng.

At the inaugural ceremony, Mr Apenteng said the classroom block was his contribution to support the school, which is his alma mater, to further improve teaching and learning.

According to him, the school complex is an investment for the future of children.

“Education is key in nation building and as a native of the town, I want to contribute in shaping the lives of the children of the community,” he said.

He urged parents and guardians to make the education of their children and wards a priority and added that “education is the best means to part ways with poverty.”

Mr Apenteng further advised the teachers and pupils to regularly maintain the school block.

Private support

In his address, the District Director of Education, Mr Ignatius Mwinbe-Ere Der, lauded Mr Apenteng for his contribution and called on other individuals and corporate bodies to support the educational drive of the country.

“Quality education requires massive investments; hence, private entities must complement the efforts of government,” he said.

For his part, the Headmaster of the school, Mr Samuel Antwi, said the classroom block would significantly improve the quality of education provided by the school.
